About Us
photo of Bob Repine The Economic and Community Development Department provides economic and community development and cultural enhancement throughout the state, and administers programs that assist businesses, communities and people.

Our mission is To advance Oregon's economy.

We have identified three core objectives:
  • Promote a favorable investment climate to strengthen businesses, create jobs and raise real wages.
  • Assist Oregon communities to build capacity to retain, expand and attract business.
  • Improve national and global competitiveness of Oregon companies.

We believe these three objectives best serve our mission to expand Oregon's economy. Fulfilling our mission means our work will enhance both rural and urban communities; expand both existing and emerging industries; and assist both small and large businesses. We look forward to paving the way for continued sustainable economic development in Oregon, and working with the Governor, private industry and other state agency partners to ensure opportunity for Oregonians today and beyond.
